Reflections Along The Journey

Have you ever met someone and thought to yourself, I’ve got that guy all figured out before he even opens his mouth, and then the guy opens his mouth and he isn’t anything like what you expected – sort of like the first time you tasted a ballpark hotdog and realized that not all hotdogs are the same or the first time you watched the Ottawa Senators play and realized that not all hockey teams suck like the Toronto Maple Leafs – and suddenly you think, I’d like to know a little bit more about this guy because he’s nothing like what I expected him to be. Well, hopefully I’m a little like that. And yes, I realize that this entire paragraph was almost one long run-on sentence.

I love breaking stereotypes. When I tell someone I’m a preacher, they think I’m lying (preachers don’t ever lie, do they?). But I am a preacher. Have been one for twenty years now. Currently, I’m leading a rocking bunch of people at The Bikers’ Church.

I’m also a guy who believes in passion. In fact, there are a number of things I’m passionate about: God, my family, my church and my Harley are just a few of those things. I’m also a geek, and love most geeky things, including anything Steve Jobs can dream up at Apple.

I love hanging with passionate people. Even if someone is passionate about something I don’t give a rip about, I love seeing the passion in their eyes. I enjoy deep conversations about the very things that make a person passionate. So, what are you passionate about?

This is my personal blog. It’s random. It’s jumbled. Sometimes I go weeks without posting. Sometimes I post multiple times in a day. That’s just the way I am. Hopefully you enjoy walking the journey with me. Perhaps we can learn a few things together along the way. Of course, that will require input on your part, so please be comfortable in commenting on anything I may write.
